What is Roulette? Roulette is a casino and gambling game named after the French word meaning "small wheel". In the game a croupier spins a wheel in one direction, then spins a ball in the opposite direction around a tilted circular surface running around the circumference of the wheel. What are Inside Bets? Straight Up You can bet on any number on the table (1-36, 0) by placing a chip on it. Winning bets are paid at 35/1. If the ball lands on the 0, all bets are lost with the exception of those straight bets placed on the 0.
Split (2-Number Bet) A bet can be placed on two adjacent numbers by placing a chip on the line between them. If the ball lands on either number, you win. The odds are 17/1.
Street Bet or Row Bet (3-Number Bet) A bet can be made on any three numbers in a row across the table by placing a chip on the outer line of that row. If the ball lands on any of the three numbers, you win the bet at 11/1.
Corner Bet Betting on any four adjacent numbers is possible by placing the chip on the corner, where all four numbers meet. A winning bet is paid out at 8/1.
Six Number Bet This bet is placed on the outside line, between two rows, covering six numbers. The bet is won if the ball lands on any of these six numbers. The payout is 5/1.
Neighbours Some players like to bet on the neighbors, that is, a group of numbers clustered together on the wheel, for example 20, 14, 31, 9 and 22.
What are Outside Bets?
